Reissues is Released!
It's done! After two years and many highs and lows, we've finally got this mod finished. Here's the official press release:

"Reissues" is a community compilation of 30 single player Half-Life 1 levels authored by a mix of various designers. Each one has created their own unique, self-contained chapter: you'll spelunk into ancient Egyptian tombs, scale mile-high cliff sides, and fight your way through several clever re-imaginings of Black Mesa - among other exciting setpieces!

Why did we bother squeezing this last bit of mileage out of a decade-old game engine? Because Half-Life 1 offers a unique feel and aesthetic that makes it a timeless classic; because great gun fights remain great fun fights, even without shiny next-gen graphics; because we love what we do, and we hope you'll love it too.

Beta Testing is Complete
Okay, so the September release didn't work out, but we've kept plugging away and now we're getting close. Final versions of many of the maps are already in, and the rest should be submitted very soon. With any luck we hope to have a release before New Years.

Happy Holidays!

New Digs
We finally set up a new permanent (more or less) home for the new Reissues Website that SEThorian put together for us. Now it almost looks like we know what we're doing.

Beta testing is underway; we already have half a dozen highly skilled volunteers doing their level best to find all the bugs and other problems in Reissues before we unleash it on the public. Not that there ARE any bugs or other problems - those beta testers aren't going to find a thing, no sir! Not so much as a spelling error.

Right guys? . . . uh guys?

So at this point it looks like we might just meet that September release target date. Possibly.

Well, we can hope anyway.

Update Extravaganza!
As you can see, the Reissues website has received a bit of a polish. (And by 'a bit' we actually mean a total redesign.) Asides a renewed website there's also a new load of media to be found on the media page. (And when we say 'a load', we truly mean it!) However, it doesn't end there! With all these new goodies we can't really let you go without a release date, now can we? As can be read in the new frequently asked questions (FAQ) section, we're currently aiming for a September 2007 release. This should - ideally - put our release right before Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

With all these updates and a release date so near, it's obvious that Reissues is almost done. In order to finish the mod however, we still need to properly beta test it. For this, we need (and we're sure you didn't see this coming); beta testers! So, if you'd like to help test Reissues out then let it be known at the Reissues forum.

Having said that, feel free to drop by on our forums to let us know what you think of this update!

Early December Media Update
Reissues is still going. Not very fast, but it is still going. Hopefully over the holidays the team will find time to finish up those maps and get them in. In the meantime, we do have a few updated screenshots on the Media page.

Approximate Mapcount Known!
We've managed to collect most of the beta map submissions, and soon will be ready to begin serious beta testing. It looks like Reissues should have 20 to 25 maps altogether.

Level Change Modules Done
I finally got around to adding the official Reissues level change modules to the downloads pages. These are the standard level changes mentioned in the rules. Very easy to incorporate - I promise!

There are also a few more screenshots on the media page, these from tottmaster_c.
